Daire Collins

Daire Collins is a documentary filmmaker based in West Cork. His most recent film, ‘For Emergency Use Only’ premiered at the 2021 Galway Film Fleadh and was released online with the New Yorker Magazine, who were a co-producer on the project. Daire was based in London for a number of years, working in news media and on short reportage films. He has produced and directed a number of short docs across Western Europe, the Balkans, and West Africa. Having previously worked in-house for large news organisations such as Channel 4 News, BBC, HuffPost UK, and AJ+, Daire has moved toward developing and directing short creative documentaries. In 2019, Daire participated in the Thessaloniki Doc Fest public pitch where he was awarded the ERT development prize. He subsequently attended the 2019 Mediterranean Film Institute Doc Lab with his project Dear Cornel which is still under development. Daire was also One World Media fellow for 2019/2020.
