Jen has been a consultant for over a decade offering business, strategy and leadership consultancy to creative companies - TV production, broadcasters, publishers, digital content businesses, charities and arts organisations. She usually works with two types of clients: firstly, those looking to develop a plan for how to crack the internet, and secondly the owners of TV and film production companies wanting to develop strategies to grow their companies. Her clients have included the Booker Prizes, Beano Studios, STV News, around 100 independent TV, film and digital content production companies, Channel 4’s Emerging Indie Fund and Screen Scotland’s FilmCity Futures initiative. Over 1,200 industry professionals subscribe to her weekly newsletter businessoftv.substack.com, which covers the trends TV, film and content people need to know to plan for the future. Previously, she was a director, manager or leader of online content, products and services for TV broadcasters, publishers, games and tech companies including Microsoft/Xbox and Channel 4. She has an MBA and a professional certificate in executive coaching from Henley Business School. She started her career in journalism working for newspapers and then joined the BBC as a news trainee. She was vice chair of BIMA, the trade body for the British digital industry.
