The Builders of the Alhambra
The place is Granada, the time 1340, VIII century of the Hegira, XIV century for the Christian neighbors. The Granada Kingdom is the last Muslim domain left in Europe, and their boundaries are constantly shrinking. Two sultans of this dynasty, which is at the same time in its splendor and its decline, decide to show the world the intellectual power reached after seven centuries of Andalusian civilization. They embark their people in a challenge to produce the perfect art work in the form of a building, the Alhambra palaces. Ibn al Khatib, prime minister, philosopher, poet and doctor, is the right hand of these two sultans. A witness and protagonist of this golden era, a man whose footprint is still attached to these walls. He tells us the story of this chapter of European history, and his own story.
