The Last Ones

Playa Azul is the world, standing still. A small village facing the ocean and next to an immense river mouth, is home to a handful of artisanal fishing families, all confronting a stark reality: fish are disappearing and drug trafficking offers a way out. The Campos family, father, mother, six children and one grandchild, is at the crossroads of this uncertain future, each dealing with it in his or her own way. Are they slowly becoming ghosts? Los Ultimos is a simple, cumulative record of life where the mystery of human surfaces and their relationship to the cruel whims of the world becomes apparent. The Campos family’s activity and resistance is the everyday.
