Claudia Euen

Claudia Euen is a filmmaker and author from Leipzig. She was born in Gera/Thuringia in 1979 and studied ‘European Media Culture’ in Weimar and Lyon. Various stays abroad took her to Connecticut in the USA, Riga in Latvia and Hanoi in Vietnam, where she worked as a development worker. From 2009 to 2012 she was editor-in-chief of the Leipzig city magazine der Kreuzer, and since 2012 she has realized texts, radio and television reports for various media such as ARTE, ZDF, Deutschlandfunk, MDR, SWR, SPIEGEL ONLINE and DAS MAGAZIN. In 2013, she took part in the TP2 talent pool and completed a training program in screenwriting and directing. As a scholarship holder of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, she developed her first documentary IN THE SHADE OF THE APPLE TREE in 2015, which was shown at numerous international festivals. For her current project THE ONES WE ARE, she received development funding from the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony and won the Bremen Documentary Film Prize.
