Duel of Passion

The deadly rivalry between the architectural creators of baroque Rome.

They are both ingenious. And their conflict will kill one of them in the end. The film tells the drama behind the birth of baroque Rome: In 17th century the popes decide, to rebuild Rome as "Paradise on Earth" to fight reformation. Two young and gifted men start to realize the giant project: Gianlorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini are friends and partners. When one betrays the other their relation turns to a furious competition – ending with a tragedy. But the beauty born out of the conflict of artistic giants is still there to see: St.Peters Square, Piazza Navona, Angels Bridge. It was the birth of Baroque.
