This question is addressed in the film. Like an allegory of the globalized world, it is described as fluent and nomadic and is said to be of healing impact: Japanese spirituality can be newly perceptible by being mixed up with the virtual world of the media.

Sushi, Sailor Moon and Zen seem to reflect the Zeitgeist in an outstanding manner.
