No Country for the Young

In Oas Country, in the northern part of Romania, the streets are empty, the silence is hardly ever broken by the sound of a horse-pulled cart while the opulent, three level villas, are locked, empty and completely lifeless. Village after village, the same opulent and abandoned look, lacking motion, sound, smell. And people. Except for the month of August, when streets swarms with thousands and thousands of people, as locals return home from abroad, to organize weddings with “traditional” costumes tapped with Swarovski diamonds of 25 kilos each. In September, Oas becomes a large-scale museum again. Dead, rich and a paradox for the rest of the country. What is the point of all this?
