Ahmed is haunted by the idea of reuniting his mother with her childhood friend from Greece, Marika. They have been separated for fifty years, and he succeeded in following her footsteps back to Greece and finding her phone number. His mother, Hoda, calls her and they start resuming their friendship via modern technology (email and Facebook). Ahmed decides to go with his mother as she travels to meet Marika for the first time in fifty years. All the while, he is having long conversations via video call with his NY based friend Hany. Hany left Egypt seven years ago. They explore together what has survived in Hany’s memory of his homeland, their relationship as friends and what might happen to their ideas in the future.
