Cassie Quarless
Cassie Quarless is a documentary producer/director with a keen interest in culture and the stories of marginalised communities. He has most recently been the development director for a documentary series for Apple TV+ along with Dorothy Street Pictures. Cassie also directed a TV documentary for the BBC about the late designer Virgil Abloh. His first BFI funded feature length film Generation Revolution was released in cinemas in the UK and toured the US and South America. Cassie has developed documentary feature projects about Stokely Carmichael, Malcolm Shabbazz, the history of Black British Music with PBS, the BBC and HBO amongst others.
As a keen technologist and thinker, Cassie recently wrote an e-book ‘AI for Film & TV’ aimed at demystifying the world of generative AI for people in the worlds of film and tv. He is an active speaker and consultant in the space leading workshops for the BBC, Screenskills, Creative Enterprise and many more. In 2023, he was selected as one of the TV Collective’s Breakthrough Leaders and was an Eccles Fellow at the British Library. His work has also been featured in The Guardian, Teen Vogue and i-D Magazine amongst many other publications.
