In Love with the Journey of Man
An exploration of Alessandro's personal challenges as a new father amid plans for further gas and oil extraction in the Arctic and the visible effects of climate change. In Norway he meets people with diverse views on ecological and economic dilemmas: Morten, an oil worker; Ingvild, an activist; and Paul, a fisherman. These encounters deepen Alessandro's understanding of the complex relationship between economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Feeling a strong connection to his family's history in the oil sector, Alessandro travels to Italy to confront his estranged father. In his father's city he uncovers his family's forgotten heritage as fishermen. Claudio, the son of one of the last professional fishermen, shows him how the polluted lakes reflect the dilemmas Northern Norway faces.
With his son Leo, Alessandro finds hope and faith for the future.
